1. 表示安慰(多用于小孩，且往往连用两个there)，意为：好啦。如：

There, there, stop crying. 好啦，好啦，别哭了。

There, there! Go to sleep. 好了，好了，睡觉吧。

2. 表示说话者所言之事是对的(常有得意之味，且多与 now连用)，意为：你瞧! 怎么样? 如：

3. 用来引起注意，意为：喂；嘿；瞧。如：

A：This box is too heavy. we can’t carry it. 这箱子太重，我们搬不动。

5. 表示责备、沮丧等，意为：你看；哎呀! 如：
