One day, Jack was on the way home after school. He was walking on the road by the river bank when he heard somebody crying for help nearby. He looked around and found a little girl struggling in the water. At the sight of this, Jack took off his clothes and jumped into the river. The little girl was saved. But the girl had stayed in the water so long that that she lost her consciousness(知觉). Jack stopped a taxi and took her to a hospital. After the treatment the little girl could speak, but Jack didn’t leave the hospital until the girl’s parents arrived. They were very thankful to him.
