【用法说明】

(1) 表示做某事的习惯，其后习惯上接of doing sth作定语，而不接不定式。如：

我已养成一到家就打开电视机的习惯。

误：I’ve got into the habit to switch on the TV as soon as I get home.

正：I’ve got into the habit of switching on the TV as soon as I get home.

注意，下句情况不同(不定式是主语)：

It was not his habit to ask people for things. 他没有向别人要东西的习惯。

(2) 表示“有……的习惯”，可用类似以下这样的搭配：

I’m in [have] the habit of brushing my teeth twice daily. 我习惯每天刷两次牙。

(3) 表示“养成…的习惯”，可用类似以下这样的搭配：

Try to develop good reading habits. 要养成良好的阅读习惯。

They haven’t yet formed the habit of thinking in English. 他们还没有养成用英语思维的习惯。

(4) 表示“改掉…的习惯”，可用类似以下这样的搭配：

(5) 表示“出于习惯”，其前一般用介词out of或from。如：

(6) make a habit of doing sth与make it a habit to do sth均表示“养成做某事的习惯”，注意结构稍有不同——前者a habit是动词make的宾语，而of doing sth 是修饰名词a habit的定语；后者it是代替to do sth的形式宾语，而a habit则为宾语补足语。如：

He made a habit of taking a short walk after his lunch.

=He made it a habit to take a short walk after his lunch. 他养成了午饭后散步的习惯。
